My review & recommendation of zipservers
This post is to serve as my own recommendation/review of my experience with ZipServers too date. I’ve been working with and using ZipServers for close to 2 years now. Currently I have a fully managed server with them.
Back in March of 2009 I became aware of my company site and customer’s sites not loading. After opening a ticket I was told there was an issue with the name servers and that service should be restored shortly.
This may have been probable I thought to myself nevertheless, I was able to ping the name servers without any disappointment so I believed this was an unusual issue. Once all services were restored and operational I realized that all the emails dated back 5 days from the current date of my ticket and immediately this raised red flags. I knew this had nothing to do with name servers and figured it was a failure with their hardware.
I replied back letting them know that all my emails and customers emails showing on our inboxes were dated from 5 days ago and that we were all missing our emails. The support tech still tried to beat around the bush so to speak. Eventually, I believe one of the owners replied to my ticket and explained what happened with their failed RAID and latest backup.
My recommendation for any organization would be to inform all staff to work based on honesty and integrity. Even if there was an issue customers will be more accepting of a problem when they know you are being honest and tell them the truth vs. fabrication and fallacy.
In the end, I was offered a credit for the downtime which would workout to $5 of credit for the day so I declined as this transaction was simply not worth it. But the owner actually offered to refund back in full 100% for the month plus issue me a free month for all the issues I experienced. I thought this was a very kind gesture considering I have been a somewhat long time and loyal customer who doesn’t use their technical resources all too often.
Aside from everything I wrote above I would like to add that it has been a pleasure working with ZipServers so far and they’re an excellent group of people who are very approachable, professional and enthusiastic about what they do. In addition, I noticed that the support staff has a profound wealth of knowledge in data services such as hosting, servers, software, hardware etc and they’re quite a quick learner for new trends.
Also, their technical support staff possesses all of the attributes of an over-achiever. They’re hard-working, knowledgeable, tactical and look for win-win solutions for their customers.
What has impressed me most about ZipServers is their communication and the ease with which they build rapport with clients. I believe this organization has a very successful future ahead of them.
This is one organization that like every other uses a ticket based automated system but one thing I noticed is within minutes of opening a ticket you get a live response with a resolution.
Keep up the great work and to date I have already referred 4 medium sized clients to ZipServers which I will not mention in the public form.
Sincerely,
Matt
